Campaign of the week: playwright Fin Kennedy has organised an open letter signed by more than 60 of British theatre’s highest profile names — including Tom Stoppard, Michael Frayn, Helen Mirren, Caryl Churchill, Mike Leigh and Sir Richard Eyre — calling on arts minister Ed Vaizey to take his report on the effect of cuts on new writing seriously. Although the report, called In Battalions, was published more than two months ago, Vaizey has arrogantly ignored it. Let’s help Fin get the ostrich minister’s attention — spread the word!
