With theatres closed during lockdown how did fans keep the fun of musicals alive? Well, Stage Insider — a group set up in 2020 with a mission to promote the joy of musicals as theatres went dark and many lost their jobs due to you know what — came up with an elegant solution. They created a new card game. Called The Musical Theatre Card Game, it has just been launched, and features 52 favourite West End and Broadway stage shows from past and present, with vibrant illustrated cards for popular musicals, from classics such as Les Misérables and Cabaret to today’s hits like Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton. It’s a passion project, and, who knows, maybe a good solution to any Christmas present blues — a great gift for anyone who loves musical theatre. Or any theatre fan.
