On Wallace Shawn

Sometimes, I think that there’s too much culture. Too much on offer. So, as the Royal Court’s star-studded Wallace Shawn season lifts off, I’m pleased to say that I won’t be going to see any of the plays. Am I just a lazy bastard? Yeah, yawns Pirate Dog, you are. Well, not exactly. It’s more that there are some playwrights that I just don’t get. You know, people who’ve got a great reputation, and have worked with great success for decades but who leave me unmoved. I don’t know why it is but I just don’t feel anything for Shawn, no, not even curiosity. So I guess I’m just going to have to pass on this chance to discover his work for the first time!
